maybe may too

A little brag book for yesterday's baby shower

Well, I'm hoping not, but maybe May is going to be a busy month too? Spent Friday "catching up" after a week of vertigo and straight into the weekend with a baby shower *and* an anniversary party last night. They were both gorgeous events. Thankfully it didn't rain on the garden setting shower (though I think I may have lost my umbrella there).

Here's some pics from the baby shower. Isn't the cake cute? Love the little monkey:

The anniversary party was a lovely golden 50th for one of my cousins. Her kids did an awesome job putting together a beautiful and memorable event. There was a wonderful slide show of "through the years" and they even had my cousin's wedding dress on display --thought that was a wonderful touch:

Well, however May plays out a full life is a good life!

bundle of joy

Little pillow favors I made for a baby shower last weekend. They were filled with pink & lavendar M&Ms. The oversize scallop tag was cut on the Cricut (Mini Monograms cartridge). The embossed title was a Quickutz 2x2 folder from a boxed baby set. I lightly inked over the embossed letters with white ink so they'd stand out a bit better. The patterned paper with birdies is from a DCWV stack, and the satin chickies were from a dollar store. Lastly, I tied some pink tulle around the pillow box and used a pink safety pin to attach the tag.

Here they are en masse

instant scrapbook

A little footnote on the new dies. Almost forgot to mention that I was already able to use a couple of them for the baby shower album that my friends and I made on Monday. Here is a pic of some of the album pages (tho not the ones I used the new dies on because I don't want to post guests' photos without their permission).

The finished album turned out so cute (if I do say so!) There were four of us who worked on it, but despite our differing individual styles we still managed to put together a wonderful unified album. It really helped to use papers from one manufacturer/line (in this case K & Company). And let me just add that I loved the "teamwork" approach -- the four of us were able to complete in a single afternoon-to-evening.

Today as the shower progressed, we quickly snapped, printed and adhered the photos into the album so that it would be done when the guest of honor finished opening gifts. The completed album was the last gift she opened. She was very happy with it.

Instant albums like this one are great fun to do and are a big hit. If you don't have a photo printer, you can use a Polaroid camera instead.
