you should be dancing

Well, since it looks like it's what most of my blog posts are all about lately, here's more dancing. The below link takes you to a video of Snowball. He’s a cockatoo who loves to dance. He especially likes Backstreet Boys:

Thanks to my sis Cari for sharing this one. Love it!

and a 5-6-7-8!

Those were my group's numbers as we waited in the line for Dancing With the Stars. We felt pretty good about being the second group in line and the "5-6-7-8" seemed to bode well for our chances of nabbing seats for a show about dancing. Arriving early also meant a wait in the shade, which was something to smile about during our late-breaking California heatwave.

Here we all are as the papparazzi snapped our pics (lol!) Notice the book my friends are reading - Elsie's 52 Challenges!

My mom and me

Of course, cameras and cell phones aren't allowed in the studio. Too bad, because it sure would have been fun to snap away in there. It was a very exciting show, as you might know if you've seen it or heard about it in the news. Marie Osmond was the first to perform and she fainted while judge Len Goodman was critiquing her performance. It was just wild! They cut to commercial and we all watched anxiously while medical personnel and staff tried to revive her. One of her brothers ran out on to the floor (Jimmy, I think). Very dramatic start to the show. It seemed like it threw the whole night into a weird sort of vibe. Thankfully she was okay.

The judges gave mixed scores several times last night. It was a really unpredictable evening. I'm really curious to see how the results come in tonight. I really think Mark Cuban needs to go home. His dance with Kim was really cute -- she looked adorable (really resembled Barbara Eden) and her dancing was great, of course. But of all the contestants Mark's performance was by far the weakest. My favorite performance of the night was by Mel and Max. I really love the Samba and I just loved theirs - it was so full of energy. Can't wait to see the results!

After the performance, the producers interview a lot of audience members. My mom and I were the last two to be interviewed. The odds of appearing on the results show are pretty slim considering how many folks they talk to, but there is the teeny, tiny chance we might make a "cameo" tonight.

You better watch just in case!

The line went on and on...

not really.

Did you really think I've been partying like it's 1999? (or maybe I should've said partying like it's 1099 -lol!) The truth is that even though I was supremely happy to finish up all that nasty tax paperwork and get the darn thing filed, I have actually been laying pretty low for the last half week or so.

The family --including me-- has been under the weather (again). So it was a quiet weekend at home and I put the time to use making a few mini albums to list on eBay. You can read more about it at my other blog.

I've also been quietly plugging away at reorganizing my scrap space. Working on ways to store my tools and supplies a bit more stylishly so that they can co-exist with my living room more harmoniously. I haven't taken pics yet since it is a work in progress, but suffice to say that I have two new cabinets that are already making me very happy. One houses my Cuttlebug die cutting machine and dies along with other things. The other one stores my mini sewing machine and stuff.

Today my very mechanical DS put together a wrought iron basket rack from Costco that I'm really loving. I think it's meant for kitchen use. The box shows it holding veggies and stuff. I'm not completely sure what all will go in mine yet. So far I've added my scrap bins. Mine looks something like the 3 tier tower in this pic except instead of the wicker, mine is iron:

no time to post - still partying

Finally finished the dreaded taxes!

five minutes or less

That's how long it takes to do the free make-n-take at Scrappin' Good Times. I know you're busy. I know you're at work, or you're running errands or you just have too much on your plate. But if you're going to be near the store anyway, and can pull just a few minutes out of your day then I hope I'll see you.

This month's card uses a bold graphic paper. A less-than-girly paper. And there's a reason for that people. Next week is BOSSES DAY! What a great time to pop into the store and whip out a card for the boss (yes this one works for male or female bosses) and put a few things in a basket for yourself too.

Maybe you don't have a boss. Maybe you don't want to give your boss a card. That's okay --we'll be doing thank you cards too.

Hope I see you tomorrow at the store. I'll be there from 11am until 1pm.

i love working with paper...

... unless it is paperWORK. Give me lovely patterned paper, or some good quality cardstock and I'm happy.

This weekend I'm working on tax paperwork, scrambling to get all in order and file my 2006 return by the 15th (I filed for an extension in April). I'm not a very happy camper at the moment.

This layout done for a challenge earlier this year pretty much sums it up right down to the wild colors and crazy design-lol! This page might give you nightmares --I know the 'real deal' does the same for me:

stars in my eyes

Da da da da, DA da da, da da da DA DA!

I'm so thrilled because I just scored some tickets to go see Dancing with the Stars taped later this month. How cool is that?!

I'll admit I haven't always been an absolute die-hard fan of the show. There was one season where I only caught an episode or two and last season I missed most of the early shows. But this year I'm hooked! All the teams are just SO good and it's such a fun show to watch. Can't wait to see the glitz and glamour in person!

two pages

I actually stole some time out of my schedule and put a couple of pages together. Hoping to find time to do some more scrapping in the weeks to come.
