And the new millenium seemed an impossible eventuality. Yet here we are a decade and a half into the "2000's" thanks to the amazingly fleeting nature of time.

2014 whizzed by in a blur on the heels of blurry 2013. The reason for that was that late in 2012 my mom was diagnosed with colon cancer and it really changed things for mom and all us kids. She had to have a sudden major operation with a long painful recovery. We saw the new year of 2013 in at the hospital.

Once mom was strong enough, she had faced the long chemotherapy haul. By fall of last year, it seemed like things were looking up. But one memorable day in October she had a seizure and from there it was all downhill. The doctors found two tumors in her brain.

I remember one doctor telling me that the "by the book" life expectancy given her circumstances was about eight weeks. I guess we caught a little break because we had her for a little better than 10 weeks. We saw the new year of 2014 in not in a hospital but in a hospice facility. Rough times.

It's been just about a year now since we said goodbye to mom. This year has been difficult. Adjusting to not having her around. Getting used to thinking about things I'd like to share with her and knowing that I can't just give her a call.

Then there's been the "stuff". Mom was not a wealthy woman and compared to some did not have a lot of possessions, and for the most part what she owned was not particularly valuable. But still.... there was stuff. Things, papers, mementos...just "stuff". We had a couple of yard sales. Divvied up the rest by who had space for it until we could sort and cull and disperse. My portion wasn't really that much, but it pretty much took me all year to deal with. It was a procrastination issue more than anything. Dealing with it was more about moving on than anything and I guess I just wasn't ready for that until very recently.

I've spent several weeks working on that challenge and I was surprised at how emotional some of the tasks still were. But it's been a good process mostly and I feel good and more in control of my life again. Not so stagnant. I've got lots more I'd like to do but I'm off to a good start. The living room is presentable and we can have company {without utter shame} again!

Here's to simplification and spending more time with and appreciating loved ones in 2015.Cindy Fhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08385750939832634766noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8463024730138375128.post-77812592203388011052014-04-18T08:23:00.000-07:002014-04-18T09:43:47.123-07:00nsd is just around the cornerNSD (National Scrapbook Day) is the first Saturday of May --this year that happens on May 3rd. For the fourth year in a row, I'll be a vendor at a weekend crop in Orange County, California. And even though it will be a "working" weekend for me, there will be plenty of time between customers for doing some of my own cropping.

There wasn't a lot of time for me to scrapbook over the past year (I'll save that topic for another post), but I'm looking forward to getting my crafty groove back on this year. In fact, I've already gone to one crop and managed to do a few layouts. And I'm really looking forward to getting some more done for NSD.

To boost my motivation/creativity/enthusiasm/productivity for that weekend, I've decided to join a couple of online events. The first one is Big Picture Classes "National Scrapbook Day 10k". The event is free and includes hourly ideas and inspiration from leading instructors. Participants will be posting their creations to Instagram (using the hashtag #NSD10k and the tag @bigpictureclasses).

I'm also going to try to play along with some of the challenges at Scrapbook.com's (Inter)National Scrapbook Day event. They've already listed challenge "teasers" so participants can get supplies and photos ready.
I've been on Pinterest for some time now -- a year, maybe more. It's been such a great way to organize things I would've previously collected via bookmarks or images saved to my hard drive. Before Pinterest appeared in my life, my favorite tidbits were sprinkled about in various places and there was no single place to conveniently browse for inspiration or ideas.

I love that Pinterest pulls all these goodies into one convenient spot. It's like the best magazine I've every read - a catalog of favorites that's always growing and improving. (Because truth told, now I save even MORE things than I probably would've in the past -- does that make me a Pinterest hoarder? Hey, don't answer that.)

The continuing growth of my collection means that sometimes I have to split up interests by starting new boards and moving pins into a better defined category. It's a bit of a pain to do, but in the long run it makes browsing and finding things easier. I've just done this with my Personal Style board - splitting out some pins into new boards for Just Shoes & Bags & Belts, Hair, and Makeup & Cosmetics.

Now I'm about to tackle a big whomping pinterest re-do: food pins. Up until now, my collection of boards has not included any food pins or boards (other than a few pins in my Entertaining Ideas board). I'm not sure why I went this route, but instead of re-pinning food I chose to simply "like" those pins. So, now when I want to find recipes I have to go through SOoooooo many pins that it's just not practical any more. (I have over 3,000 likes to give you an idea of the monster I've created.)

So, divide and conquer is what's about to happen. It's a nasty job but someone's gotta do it and that someone is me.

Do you Pinterest? I'd love to check out your boards - just leave me a link in a comment.
Despite my earshattering silence, I've been up to stuff lately. (Aren't I always?) Last month was the annual winter trade show from the Craft & Hobby Association (aka CHA). I was happy to again work with Pink Paislee /Heidi Swapp in their beautiful booth. We had a team meeting the night before that included an introduction to Heidi's new media team (the sweetest girls, ever!) and a wonderful class from Heidi Swapp herself. There was also dinner and orientation for working the booth --all of it was lovely and much appreciated.
On the subject of teaching, I'm hard at work planning some public classes this year. It's been awhile since I taught at a store. Lately, all of my gigs have been at private events such as crops and retreats. So, I'm kind of excited about getting back into the retail stores and meeting more happy, scrappy people. I'll be sure to post more once I've got things in place. While I'm thinking of it, if you are interested in keeping up with my teaching and other crafty shennanigans, be sure to follow me on twitter: twitter.com/MammaJammaBlabb
A few weeks after CHA was over, I was back at the Anaheim Convention Center, this time for the Scrapbook Expo. I worked for two different vendors there. First, I did setup (and teardown) with the lovely people of Paper Wizard. In case you're not familiar with Paper Wizard, they are makers of beautiful, intricate pre-made laser cut titles and accents. The owners are an adorable husband and wife team who were a joy to work with. And they are music lovers, so we had tunes going the whole time we were setting up the booth. It's <strike>as good as</strike> better than whistling while you work!
I was able to take some classes, too. I did a Melissa Frances bookbinding class taught by the lovely Kim Garner, a "Hot Off the Press" elegant cards class with Sophia of Strictly Scrapbooking and an awesome organization class with Tiffany of The ScrapRack. Plus, I had a half day to walk the floor for awhile with a friend I used to work with, and then for while with one of my besties. I guess you could really say I packed in all that I could in the few days I was there.
It started early, for one. I left town Thursday afternoon with my roomie Michelle Gutierrez to check into this hotel in Manhattan Beach.
We were there for Teresa Collins' event "Inspired Journey" at the Manhattan Beach Marriott on Friday and Saturday. Due to a series of unfortunate events we weren't able to stay at the actual event venue, but our substitute location was fine with us (and we were only a couple of blocks away from the Marriott).
The event ended on Saturday evening and I said goodbye to my roomie. In her place my honey came out to join me. We had planned a mini getaway (an early anniversary celebration of sorts). We kicked around the Manhattan Beach area all day. It was so nice and relaxing. We jammed in as much as we could in one less-than-24-hour day:

My Scrapbook Sale is now history. Mostly I'm happy about that, but I gotta confess that I've got a little bit of mixed feelings here.

On the one hand, I'm feeling really good because I finally was able to fit the sale into my schedule (I'd been planning to have one for nearly two years). I'm happy to say that I moved plenty of supplies on to new homes where they can have a fresh lease on life. So, yay me!

On the other hand, I'm a little surprised and honestly also a little disappointed at just how much stuff I actually still have. I'm talking stuff I didn't even go through. (Eeek!) The fact is, there just wasn't time to get to everything. I sorted and I thinned. I purged and I culled. I did what I could, but in the end I couldn't beat the clock. So, you know what that means - there is more purging in my future! And I may just be putting some of those goodies into giveaways here on my blog.

So stay tuned!

My Stamp Collection Awaits a Purge

Sort & discard, sort & discard... that's what I'm all about right now. After I re-did the scrap space last summer, I was a little bit naughty. I didn't unpack all the boxes of stuff that I'd moved out of my space.

See, the thing is my stuff just wasn't fitting in my work area. And even though I have an additional space to store my class items away from my work area, truth of the matter was that I'd exceeded available space there too. So, now all the excess is making me crazy and it simply must go! (I'm sure many of you fellow crafters can totally relate to this.)

So, what's one to do with all this STUFF when one decides it's no longer needed? One passes it on! That's right, I'm having another scrapper's flea market. I had one a couple of years ago and it was pretty successful, but I'm hoping to reach even greater heights this time. I want to be a lean mean machine on the other side of this.

Won't you please help a girl out and come take away some of this stuff? You know what they say - that one (wo)man's trash is another (wo)man's treasure. Those are truly words of wisdom. At the last sale, as well as getting rid of a whole lot of stuff, I was able to pick up a few items that solved some of my storage problems (a carrying case for my Cuttlebug, and a display rack for my PaperCraft Princess boutique).

Some of my crafty friends and fellow teachers will be here selling as well so I know they will be bringing some amazing things to sell. You really just never know what you're going to find.

Hope you are able to stop and shop (and please bring a friend!)
I had to go grassroots, start at the bottom and go on 150 auditions before someone finally gave me a shot."

~ Donnie Wahlberg

So, I guess you could say I can relate to the above quote. I'm a happy designer and teacher quietly working away in my corner of the big, bold world of crafting. There are no manufacturers banging down my door, no one with connections out there campaigning on my behalf. Like Donnie, I'm grassroots all the way, starting at the bottom and stepping up to audition for a place on the prestigious and very desirable Graphic 45 Design Team.

So am I ready for my close up? Honestly, I'm not sure about that, but nonetheless here it goes. These are some recent projects I've created using Graphic 45 products.

Project #1 - Gift Bag (Fashionista)
I thought it would be fun to alter a cereal box into something useful, so our empty box of raisin bran turned into something less healthy but much more appealing (if you ask me).

Here is a close up of the flower I made to embellish it:

Project #2 - Diorama magnet (Steampunk Debutante)
I had fun re-coloring the metal base and the watch parts for this piece with alcohol inks. How lucky for me that the alcohol inks in my stash match the Steampunk Debutante line perfectly.

Project #3 - "On the Boulevard" layout (A Perfect Gentleman, Curtain Call)
I have to admit that I love crossing lines, and it's especially easy with Graphic 45. Many of the collections have shared elements and hues. It really lets me extend my options when I'm creating and was ideal for working with photos from my son's "Great Gatsby" themed graduation party.

Project #4 - Notecard (Fashionista)
I love making cards of all types, from the very clean and simple to those that are more elaborate and technique heavy. This one falls somewhere in between, I think.

I've made this little book for my dearest friend who I know will treasure it. The bathing beauties in this collection just begged for a fun project to share with my BFF.
Project #6 - "Cards, Calls, Emails" organizer (Communique)
This little organizer is made from a standard sized manila file folder that I've folded into this cute little pocketed book. I'll be tucking a sheet into each pocket to keep track of my own communications. The last pocket holds a flip open book with contact info, and the closure for the organizer is a simple binder clip, easily removed and replaced.
Project #7 - "Party Girls" layout (Curtain Call)
One more layout to end my audition with. These are some more photos from my son's grad party. Once again, "Curtain Call" was an ideal choice.
I was surprised to find that I'd taken a lot less photos than I normally do and that they were a different type of photo. It probably had something to do with what my focus was for the show (meaning I was thinking ahead to what product lines I'd order for classes). So, the fun project photos of projects are a bit thinner than usual.

First off, the lovely folks at Epiphany Crafts who are very much on my mind right now (coincidentally, I happen to be back at the Anaheim Convention Center again this weekend working the Epiphany booth for Scrapbook Expo). Isn't the garland in the booth amazing? It was made of cupcake wrappers and coffee filters and it was absolutely beautiful! Epiphany introduced a couple of "must-have" new tools. I totally have my eye on the pennant tool - too cute!

Next a few pics from the Heidi Swapp booth. First, have to say again that it was an absolute pleasure to work the booth and be there for her big re-debut. Heidi had the most AMAZING samples to inspire visitors. I loved the innovation and creativity of her new products and the many projects on display.

The glass display cabinets were changed out daily with fresh eye candy. This was easily my favorite display using the "Instaframes" which make any photo look like a cool polaroid.

The Instaframes are part of the Memory File collection, which also includes beautiful file boxes and sets of die cut patterned folders. I was enchanted by the cute projects using these folders.
And while I'm on the subject of "Heidis" (yes that was plural), I had the privilege of having one of my layouts displayed in the Heidi Grace "Clever Handmade" booth. I guess the company was a bit short of samples, so the night before the show started a call went out for some samples to be made. It was a great experience, and a bit of a challenge since I had only a handful of supplies picked up from the booth the night before the show. Heidi really wanted to show off her new embroidery pattern rubons, so I did quite a bit of embroidery on this layout:

The Maya Road booth is always one of my favorites. They are an embellishments & trims company so that is right up my alley. They have some great designers and always display so many adorable samples.
Expect the unexpected is really how it usually goes.

I mention this because for some time now we've been working on getting some energy upgrades done on our home. Nothing major - mostly insulation. Because I was planning to be gone at CHA and never know how my husband's days will go, I made sure to schedule the work to start the day after my return.

Wouldn't you know the crew showed up while I was still at CHA. Since it wasn't a one day job, instead of sleeping in today I found myself letting a (very nice) team of young men in to start another day of banging and drilling.

My son says it looks like we had a Mafia hit

The shift in days was just a little blip of a change really, no big deal really. And thankfully David was home yesterday to handle it all in my absence. No biggie.

Until something unexpected was discovered.
Sigh.
Sometimes I don't really like surprises.

What they found was a plumbing leak in the sewage line complete with standing water in the crawl space under the kitchen. Ick - that explains the weird odor we've noticed in the kitchen. So instead of the work ending today, it just got extended by a few days. First water damage restoration team extraordinaire, ServPro of West Covina, has to come in and take care of the water issue (gotta give them a little plug since the franchise is owned by friends and my son got his first job there). Next, we'll have a plumber in to fix this big leak along with a second smaller one that was also found today.

It's throwing a bit of a monkey wrench (<---------so punny!) into the works. But despite that, I'm very happy to be home.Cindy Fhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08385750939832634766noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8463024730138375128.post-71374779612730244952012-02-01T22:14:00.000-08:002012-02-01T22:14:07.345-08:00the party's overCHA Winter '12 is a wrap and my head is swimming and brimming with thoughts, ideas, inspirations, things to share, plans to make.
No, not Disneyland. I'm at the Convention Center for the Craft and Hobby Association's annual winter trade show.

You don't have to be a paper crafter to love this one. It is every craft, ALL crafts - fine art, needle art, kids crafts, and more. The show floor opens on Sunday and for two days I'll be working the Pink Paislee booth. This is my third year working with them and I'm thrilled. The booth is always fabulous, the people are terrific and I always have a fabulous time.

I was able to preview what they have in store for us about two weeks ago and have had to keep my lips sealed all this time. That wasn't easy! You're going to love what's coming and I can't wait to share photos with you!
On Tuesday and Wednesday I'll be walking the show floor and taking lots and lots of photos. As usual, I'll be posting my pics at Flickr. You can view photos from last year's show here.
You betcha I'm excited! Tomorrow the Craft & Hobby Associations Winter Trade Show begins. Saturday is the start of the education program and I can't wait!

I remember when I was a kid that if we knew we would be going somewhere exciting the next day (like Disneyland, for example) being so giddy with anticipating that it seemed impossible to go to sleep. Not expecting to have trouble with the sleeping tonight but still planning on having a great time.

Anaheim Convention Center, here I come!
The paper team was challenged to create three projects from this supply of fun frills. With all this goodness, how's a girl to choose?

I <3 my trusty Heidi iron!

Somehow the cute pink & white polka dot fabric above didn't end up in the photo of all the goodies, but as you can see it's adorable. I pulled out my trusty Heidi Swapp iron and pressed it into perfect pleats for a lovely "love" card. (That damask bag in the background was from the dollar bins at Michael's a couple of years ago and the perfect tote for my mini iron.)
Last weekend, I decided to do the "Take Twelve" photography/scrapbooking challenge at Ella Publishing. Have you heard about it? It encourages scrapbookers worldwide to take 12 photos featuring their everyday life on the 12th of every month, for 12 months, during the year 2012. Sounds pretty do-able to me.

In fact, it's actually a great challenge for me because it isn't overly ambitious given my available time. Plus knowing me (as I do), I don't think it's possible for me to find a way to attach a bunch of (self-imposed) guilt to this project. Like I said - do-able.

I know we're already past the 12th of January. In fact, I joined on the 15th - a few days late. However if you follow the link above they tell you ways to participate even if you're getting a late start. So, why don't you come out and play? There is a photo pool at Flickr which is fun to look through too.

Anyone else up for the Take Twelve project?Cindy Fhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08385750939832634766noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8463024730138375128.post-66367378758222321562012-01-19T16:43:00.000-08:002012-01-19T16:43:00.053-08:00back in love againIn December as part of my annual JUG ("Just Us Girls") event, we made "junk journals" (aka DIY "smash" books). It was one of the funnest projects I've worked on for awhile and one of the things that I loved about it was that I used so many of my stamps. In fact, it made me fall back in love with stamping.

So much so that even though we haven't yet gotten to the organize-your-stamps section of the "Resolve to Get Organized" seminar, I had to do a little something to make my most useful stamps easier to get to. In one of the previous "Get Organized" sessions someone suggested using acrylic shadow box frames as stacking trays for stamps. Genius!

I had been haunting the organization aisles of Target, Walmart and Bed, Bath & Beyond looking for some sort of stacking tray that was just the right dimensions to fit in my IKEA Expedit drawers. Everything I found measured wrong in some direction or another. But the acrylic frames are PERFECT! Plus I can layer them three deep, so that lots and lots of stamps fit yet are easy to go through quickly. So happy with these!

One of the good (or maybe bad?) things about networking with other crafters online is that you get wind of some very good deals. The kind that cannot be passed up.
So, here are the goodies I found myself drawn to. Thankfully, I found the sale after others had mostly cleaned the shelves (or at least taken lots of other stuff I was attracted to). But I'm super pleased with what I was able to pick up for just over $13 (that's including S&H people!)
Sigh.Cindy Fhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08385750939832634766noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8463024730138375128.post-10834142977815013002012-01-17T16:01:00.000-08:002012-01-17T21:59:31.561-08:00scrap space right nowI should clarify that this is my "working" space. I also have a storage space that is not at all a pretty sight and which I will also be working on during the "Resolve to Get Organized" series. Maybe (just maybe) I'll talk about that space in another post.

So this is what you might call the "far end" of my rectangular living room. I believe it is meant to serve as a formal dining space. Last summer, after repainting the living room, I decided it was time to upgrade this end of the room so that it wasn't so out of place with the rest of the living space. As you can see, it still looks like a workspace and a crafty one at that, but it isn't quite as cluttered looking as it used to be back when mis-matched furniture lining the walls. I couldn't find a "before" photo to share, so you'll have to take my word for this.

I love my big IKEA "Expedit" unit which now serves as the main storage area for my supplies. It's taken awhile to get used to which supplies are in what cubby, but I've got that down finally. The area is a mess in this picture (and it usually is), but that table to the left in front of my sliding glass doors is not usually there. Those are leftover kits & class supplies from my JUG event in December. That's the first target for my organizational effort!

The floating shelves you see at the right in the pic above and close-up below hold some supplies too, as does the sideboard below them. Mostly tools and generic supplies like adhesives, mists, tapes and glitters.

But the big IKEA unit is the backbone of my supplies where there are bins dedicated to my rainbow section of my stash. Each of the boxes on the fourth shelf houses two colors of the rainbow, with another box holding 'rainbow/mixed' supplies. Those damask paperholders on the second shelf hold my cardstock and the other shelves hold assorted often-used tools and supplies. In the drawers are stamping supplies and punches, with larger tools and liquids in the two end cabinets.

The only thing I haven't yet figured out how or rather where to store is my "themed" supplies. Fortunately, I don't have many of these because they aren't something I use much. But I do have some and would really like to get a ScrapRack Travel Pack and a few extra spinders for those supplies.

I'll be posting more photos as I trudge through the organization course, so stay tuned!Cindy Fhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08385750939832634766noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8463024730138375128.post-1367111657231701072012-01-16T15:46:00.000-08:002012-01-16T20:48:53.797-08:00gotta lottaTomorrow is the first session of "Resolve to Get Organized" a scrapbook organization webinar by Tiffany Spaulding of The ScrapRack. I took the Fall and Winter sessions of the class and was able to get a wee bit done with regard to my organization (or should I say lack of). But this time I'm going all in.

Besides finding the time to go through stuff and the just making myself do it, my biggest challenge will be purging. I'm what Tiffany calls a "Gotta Lotta" (as you probably noticed during the rubons challenge post below). I really do like what I've bought/acquired and usually have some kind of plan for most of it. So letting go is not easy. But that is what is NEEDED and is way, way overdue.

I expect I'll need another pass or two through my stuff before it is lean and mean, but at this point any changes for the good will be a big improvement. Tomorrow I'll show you what my scrap space looks like and I'll try to be good about posting update pics throughout the process.

Until then!
PS I think you can still sign up for the seminar and you don't have to be a ScrapRack user to attend and benefit.Cindy Fhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08385750939832634766noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8463024730138375128.post-90638753927721445472012-01-15T15:25:00.000-08:002012-01-16T23:31:58.850-08:00stash challenge One of the assignments for the "Ready, Set, Create" creative team for the next ezine is a stash challenge. All the team members chose one (or two) stash items to create with. It was tempting to pick an item I already am using a lot and go from there, but I stopped myself and thought why not actually challenge myself. As I looked at the list, I realized that "rubons" were the perfect choice for me because at one time they were my absolute favorite embellishment. I loved them so much that I built up quite a stockpile that now sits neglected.

I have more than a few rubons

So after signing up for them, I hauled out my stash. This is most of what I have in that department (except for the odd sheet tucked away in a kit or packed with my rolling crop bag). That box in the back of the pic above holds my alphabet rubons and it's about 18" wide, 15" tall & deep. That's a whole LOTTA alphas, my friends!

The other two accordian files are maybe 15" in length (or width, I guess), about 12" tall and 4" or 5" deep when full expanded. One holds shapes & designs and the other holds words & sayings.

Funny thing about rubons is that when I bought my first few packages, I wouldn't use them. My very illogical reasoning was that if I used them then I wouldn't have them any more because they'd be used up. How dumb is that, right? (I've done this with other products too, sadly.) I thought got over that at some point and went to town with rubons, but somewhere along the line I just sorta stopped using them. Not absolutely, but mostly. (Maybe I never really did get over my issue with not wanting to use them up?) Anyway, whatever the issue it's a shame really because (not only do I have a ton but) when I finally use them, they look GREAT! And they're easy to use and so versatile too. That's why I fell in love with them to begin with.

You can use them on silk flowers, or ribbon/twill. They look great used directly on photos (I especially like to use white rubons on dark areas of photos) and on acrylic or acetate. I can't wait to use them on my RSC projects and hopefully inspire some of our readers to try them if they haven't before. Or, if they're like me and have neglected them, they can pull them out and re-discover them.

So what are you hoarding in your stash that you need to challenge yourself to use?Cindy Fhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08385750939832634766noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8463024730138375128.post-45230836933878719582012-01-13T15:15:00.000-08:002012-01-13T15:15:00.867-08:00pink mat love

I love my big pink Tattered Angels mat!

So I finally broke down and got myself the huge pink Tattered Angels work mat. It is something I've wanted for the longest time because as much as I loved and used my Ranger mat sometimes it just didn't cover enough of my desk. And now that I have a nice, new desk (table) from IKEA I'd like to do my best to keep it protected.

The big surprise has been that it has other bonuses besides its larger size. One is that it's such a light shade that I tend to lose less of the little stuff on it. Everything just shows up so well because of the contrast against that light pink color. The other plus is that the pink makes me feel cheerful. Not a necessary quality in a work mat, of course, but one that I'll appreciate anyway.

The thing that made me finally 'pony up' and get one is that they seem to be getting harder to find (or is that just my perception?) Anyway, that helped give me a kick in the seat of the pants and just buy one. And I'm so happy I did.Cindy Fhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08385750939832634766noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8463024730138375128.post-66917690266862291502012-01-11T15:10:00.000-08:002012-01-12T21:33:41.026-08:00happy mailThis week I had not one, but two very happy packages hit my doorstep. One was some washi tape I ordered from Etsy store "Chickydoddle". It was SOoooooo hard to choose tapes to buy because they have lots and lots to choose from. Last month, during my annual "JUG" event ("Just Us Girls") we made junk journals (aka DIY "smash" books) and the washi tape will be the perfect thing to use in my new journal.

I also finally picked up a Serious supply of baker's twine from The Twinery. They have so many yummy colors that it is great to be able to try out several in the variety mix.

Now all that's left is finding the time to play...
