ikea is my friend!

It opened maybe 4 or 5 years ago, but it wasn't until this week that I set foot inside my local store. Now this I find amazing because I have always loved IKEA. Further, I have always bemoaned the fact that if I wanted to visit the showroom, I was going to have to do some driving.

So, what has kept me from visiting local IKEA? Wish I knew. Guess I just didn't *need* to stop by. Well, that all changed with the projects we have underway at home right now. We're not remodeling, we're not re-decorating, we're just moving things around and in the process we need to clean, purge and make better use of our space.

It has been quite a challenge! Thank goodness for my new BFF IKEA! So far I've picked up a new bookcase and a desk for my room. That new desk is why I am FINALLY able to post here at my blog. (I've been computer-less for almost a week now --eeeek!)

We still another major phase in the Big Switch-ola and another visit to IKEA (new dressers for me and DH - woo hoo!) I'm so happy and relieved to be nearly done with this big project. I think when all is said and done, the rooms may not look all the much different than they do now but hopefully they will function better which will make us all very happy.

just for fun

Sorority Babes video from the 1980s comedy show Television Parts. I don't know why I find this entertaining, I just do. Hmmm... maybe this is why I didn't finish college.

crisis cleaning

It's time for another INTERVENTION from the FlyLady! After kickoff last week and then a weekend slightly under the weather, I had to hit the ground running this week with errands and stuff. Lots of "thises" and "thats". The house always goes to seed when things get crazy busy. Plus DH was out of town and that tends to throw us off our stride as well.

Thank goodness the FlyLady has come up with such a nifty solution for when things go so out of whack and I need to make a quick dent in the backlog. Her timer solution is perfect for an attention challenged gal like me. I'm all set for another installment of FlyLady Marla's Crisis Cleaning.

what's up

Wow, it's been so hard to find time to sit a the computer these last few weeks. We're still knee deep in projects on the homefront (golly, sure hope we're done soon!) Making progress, just not going as quickly as I'd like.

Then this past week was spent finishing up class samples and other preparations for the bi-monthly class kickoff at Scrappin' Good Times. In addition to finishing up my class samples and the related miscellany, I also do the computer work for the store's printed calendar. Plus along with this week's kickoff, we had an open house so there were goodies to prepare and transport. It all came together in the end, but made for a busy week!

Here is a pic of my 1/5 class, "She's One Hot Mama" --a pregnancy journal. This class is almost sold out! As of this afternoon there are two spots left.

I'll also be teaching "Introduction to Scrapbooking" at the end of the month (1/27). It's a great class for anyone who is just starting out (or thinking of getting started).

Can't wait for classes to start again!
